The stars stepped onto the red carpet for the 62nd Annual Emmy awards, which were held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, August 29th. There were many hits and misses, as always, but only a few were good enough to make it to the top of my list. Check out my picks for best dressed below.
Best Dressed of the night Award: Nina Dobrev
Saying
Nina Dobrev's first time at on the Emmys red carpet went well is an understatement. She set the bar pretty high and blew me away with her stunning metallic blush
Zuhair Murad gown. In my opinion, Nina was by far the Best Dressed star of the night.
The top of her asymmetrical gown had draped lines of crushed silk on top of an embellished corset base, while the bottom was made fully of the same crushed silk, but with a delicate pattern. The dress also had a high slit that started at mid thigh and was lined with lace.It added just the right amount of sexy. To finish off the look, she matched a dazzling pair of drop diamond earrings with a clean cut up-do. Overall, Nina’s execution of the look, down to every detail, was flawless.
Runner up: Julie Benz
Dexter star,
Julie Benz, wore a floor-length gown by
Pamella Roland,
Judith Leiber clutch,
Jacob & Co. Jewels, and
Brian Atwood pumps. The gorgeous actress was dressed perfectly from head to toe by her amazing stylist, Joey Tierney.
I loved the embellished cut out piece at the waist and how it added definition to her sexy curves, while the glamorous necklace and long ponytail finished off the chic look. Overall, she looks perfectly put together and I can’t say it enough. I was literally amazed when I first saw her step onto the red carpet. A job very well done!
3rd Place: Kelly Osbourne
Kelly Osbourne has been looking quite gorgeous lately and the Emmys were no exception. She wore a black floor-length gown by Tony Ward with a crisscross bodice that emphasized her tiny waist, while the patterned bottom had diamond shaped weaving details along the skirt. I loved the black diamond drop earrings she wore with it, while the cut of the dress flattered her well and lengthened her slim figure.
I usually prefer color to black on the Red carpet for award shows, but Kelly's gown was truly stunning. It gave so much definition to her new toned physique and smoothly transitioned the usually edgy rock and roll starlet into a true classy and sophisticated beauty. She cleans up exceptionally well!
